Thinning Peaches and Nectarines
  • Thinning your Peach and Nectarine Trees
    • We have prepared a short video tour for you to see just how much one needs to hand thin the fruit off peach and nectarine trees. Larger trees support more fruit and later ripening varieties will allow more time for the fruit to fully mature. Earlier ripening varieties and smaller trees should have more fruit thinned off of them than the larger trees.

  • Organic Steps
    • Right now thinning isn’t the only thing going on in our orchards. Some of our little organic pals and tools have been hard at work fighting pests. We planted ground covers to help attract beneficial insects that fight pests. Hanging pheromone ties confuse moths by putting out the same scent as the female moths. The moths can then never find each other and live their full lives alone.
